York Quay - 2013 - Toronto, Ontario

Constructed on top of a new underground parking garage, York Quay is comprised of Ontario Square and Canada Square parks. Canada Square is paved in red granite and brings nature onto the site in an unconventional way. It includes more than 40 majestic redwoods which frame the square and create a vertical garden. The plaza is paved in charcoal and grey unit pavers arranged in a geometric pattern -- reminiscent of the patterns made by ice in the harbour during cold winter months.
