Queen’s Park - 2019 - Toronto, Ontario
The revitalization of Queen’s Park North was completed in late summer 2019. The park was given a significant facelift that saw the upgrade of existing walkways and introduction of new walkways that now provide numerous pedestrian links throughout the park. The existing pedestrian and jogging path around the perimeter of the park was improved and the main north-south promenade connecting the Highlanders Monument to Canada and King Edward VII plazas was improved with concrete pavers and trimmed with granite bands. Over 100 new benches were added along the promenades and enhanced plantings with new and transplanted trees were added throughout the park. The realignment of the main promenades provides clear vistas through the park from the north and south. Somerville Construction is proud to have completed this project on time and on budget for the City of Toronto.
