Legacy Art Project - 2023 - Toronto, Ontario

Legacy Art Project, located at Spadina and Queens Quay on Toronto's waterfront, adjacent the Music Garden. Designed by DTAH in collaboration with artist Jon Sasaki, a passion project for the Fox family, the installation features a curving pathway and rolling topography integrated with large granite sculptures that commemorate the legacy of Terry Fox. The Legacy Art Project is a citizen-funded public space initiative dedicated to the spirit of courage, determination, and action that Terry Fox embodied. Keeping in line with the mission statement of the Terry Fox foundation, all plant and shrub species were chosen based on their medicinal properties and for the direct connection to his Grandmother's Metis ancestry.
